The citizens of Gastropolis have never needed a superhero but have just inherited two new ones. While trying to retrieve his baseball from the chemical infested sewage water, Billy falls in and is pulled out by his faithful companion, Kirby. They soon discover a power so vile that the citizens of Gastropolis and themselves may not be prepared for. They will need to control and hone their newly discovered abilities quickly if they are to defend the City of Gastropolis from its villains.

After they are both cleaned up and given a clean bill of health from both the doctor and the veterinarian they return home to resume their normal lives. Soon enough they discover that their bodies are starting to change in many different ways.
